Tomorrow night, we are hosting a Town Hall to address the concerns and questions surrounding recovery homes in our community. I called this meeting because I have seen far too much misinformation and speculation shared, and I believe our residents deserve better than rumors and social media posts. You deserve the facts. We will be joined by Mayor Jeff Gregory and Public Affairs Officer Chris Denham from Elizabethtown, who operate the recovery program there. Their program is the model we have used in developing our approach, and they will be here to explain how it works, what the rules and expectations are, how the homes are managed, and what safeguards are in place. I know there are people who are uncomfortable with recovery homes. I understand that. I am not asking you to agree with everything or to like the idea. I am asking you to come hear the facts, ask questions, and make informed decisions. It is important to understand that these recovery homes are federally protected under fair housing laws, and we are required to follow those protections. As Mayor, I believe my responsibility is to listen to our residents, address concerns openly, and make sure our community has the facts before making judgments.
